Sisterhood
Redux

Here
we are again
Older, not necessarily the wiser,
Having endured singular
Trial and tribulations,
Losses, gains and heartache.
Do we remember last year's revelry?
Coined a contest,
Indeed there was one winner
Yet we all won something.
Tangible or not
There were prices in abundance
Like apples in a barrel
For us to slosh
In friendship and comfort
With courage and respect.
Laughter, lightheartedness and sisterhood,
Better that a bauble
Heartier than a succulent stew
Priceless in their generous profusion.
We are once again, sisters,
Grateful to be here, to be conjoined
To be alive.
